What is this about?
In 2016, I had passed the middle mark of 4 years of unemployment when I decided to create a website to help me gain some traction with my job search.
I lacked the resources to outsource the work, so I took a stab at it myself. For graphic illustrations, well, again, I took a stab at that also, and created some very amateurish stick figures to visually depict my character and interests. It successfully showed some of my personality, as I did dub myself “The self proclaimed mistress of stick-figures”.
However, I really didn’t think that highly of myself – still don’t. The point I’m trying to make is that THAT was really when Sticky was born. You can check it out here if you’d like.
In creating the stick figures, believe it or not, I was using all my abilities! (LOL) A stick figure was the best I could do. Contrary to my thinking, the best I could do turned out to be pretty cool and enough.
“A Sticky Stickuation” is a dialogue between Sticky (my created stick figure) and me (the creator/writer of his story). My intent is to draw out some of the internal dialogue that can occur when it comes to doing things that make us uncomfortable or stretch us. It is my whimsical, gentle and loving way of trying to help people confront their negative, restrictive, and perfectionist thinking, and pivoting that thinking from in a different perspective. A perspective that proclaims your efforts as good enough.
I hope this inspires and encourages you as you read it as it does for me to write it. 💜
God bless you.
